We may wonder whether our faith is strong enough.

Jude closes his short but powerful letter by shifting our attention away from our ability to hold everything together and toward the ability of God:

 

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling…”

God Is Able to Keep reminds us that our confidence is ultimately not found in the strength of our grip on God.

 

It is found in the strength of His grip on us.

 

Jude has spent much of his letter warning believers about false teaching, spiritual compromise, and the need to contend for the faith.

 

Then he concludes with worship.

 

Why?

 

Because after recognizing everything believers must face, Jude remembers something greater than every threat:

 

God is able.

 

Able to keep.

 

Able to preserve.

 

Able to sustain.

 

Able to present His people before His glorious presence.

 

This does not encourage spiritual carelessness. Earlier in the same passage, Jude tells believers to build themselves up in faith, pray in the Holy Spirit, remain in God’s love, and show mercy to others.

 

We participate faithfully in our spiritual growth.

 

But we do so knowing that God’s grace is working beneath every obedient step.

 

When you feel strong, He keeps you.

 

When you feel weak, He keeps you.

 

When the road becomes difficult, He keeps you.

 

When you stumble and return in repentance, His grace meets you.

 

And when you wonder whether you have enough strength for everything ahead, Scripture redirects the question.

 

The greater question is not simply:

 

“Am I strong enough to hold on?”

 

It is:

 

“Is God able to keep me?”

 

Jude answers with worship:

 

Yes. He is able.
